Ahoy, mateys! Treasure Island Market Place first opened its doors on Saturday July 2, 2005. The market has over 500 indoor 10x10 foot spaces. The majority of these spaces are typically held by permanent vendors, but temporary spots are rented as available. Each aisle has signs which list the permanent vendors found in the row. The indoor market is climate-controlled providing warmth in the winter and a cool getaway in the summer. The restrooms are indoors with separate facilities for men and women which are cleaned hourly. The market also has a food court with permanent food vendors that offer sandwiches, pizza, pasta, French fries, hot dogs, desserts, drinks and much more. If you find a good bargain, Treasure Island has an ATM machine where you can access your treasure. If you want to enjoy the beautiful weather and fresh air the market also has an outdoor section. Outside you can find 50 15x30 foot outdoor spaces (which can be increased as needed). The outdoor section tends to have more temporary vendors which offer a new selection each week. One of last summer’s biggest hits were designer merchandise from names such as Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle, Ralph Lauren, and Levi’s for $20 or less. The aroma of fresh-cooked food is also a feature of the outdoor section. The best thing about Treasure Island is that both admission and parking are totally FREE. This rare perk has helped Treasure Island receive over 10,000 visitors in a single day. The parking lot has marked spaces for easy parking and a special handicap section that touches the building. Vendors even have their own parking lot, so customers do not get stuck walking long distances. Treasure Island always has events going on. Musical performances, raffles for vendor gift certificates, Post-Gazette concert tickets, Steelers tickets, bingo, a Kids Club, cheering competitions, clowns, Easter egg and treasure hunts are just a few of the many events Treasure Island has. Information of when these events take place can be found on the calendar page. If you want to schedule an event, information to contact Lisa Poole can be found on the left of the page. Treasure Island is open every Saturday and Sunday from 9a.m. to 5p.m. Visit us today at 110 Main Street Wintersville, Ohio 43953. |
